A Time To Build: What I'll Do During My July Blog Break

This has probably been the most productive year for my blog to date. I set goals this past January that I am proud to say I have met or am on the track to meet. I've become much more consistent in my blogging. I started a email newsletter that I have consistently sent out every Monday. I finished the manuscript for my first book of poetry and had it edited by a professional editor. I just completed a blog series for writers with day jobs. All of these things are things that only lived in my mind six months ago. I'm addicted to seeing things through now, and I'm excited about all of the ideas in my head that I have yet to act on.

First, before I jump on new ideas, I have to close out the ones that I've been pushing to the back for other things. That's why I'm taking a break from posting on this blog next month.

During the month of July, I'll be wrapping up some projects while preparing to take on others. Here's a breakdown of what I'm going to work on:

New Website: I just joined Squarespace after deliberating about it for the last few years. That means that I've got to spend time learning my way around my new digital space, and I've got to break it in by making in pretty and reflective of me. I look forward to welcoming you to my new website at the end of July/early August.

Poetry Book: This is the most important project that I'm working on this year. In spite of that, it has sort of gotten lost among my efforts to find a blog posting schedule that works for me and all the content that I've been creating for my blog and my email newsletter. I'm spending much of July finishing up the editing and layout of this book.

Podcast: I've wanted to do a podcast for a while, and I've already invested in a fancy microphone, so it's time to get it done. I'm progressively adding new formats of content to the blog, so I'm excited to start with this podcast. I'm thinking that it will be writing tips combined with life stories that illustrate authentic living.

So this will be my July. I'll resume with the blog in August, but in the meantime, there are multiple ways that you can stay in touch with me:

I'll see you in August!
